Welcome To
Sierra Leoneans In Essex Association
Empowering Sierra Leoneans

WHO ARE WE?
This group was formed on the 7th December 2018 with 15 members living in and around the Basildon area of Essex. The original purpose of the group was for Sierra Leoneans living locally to get to know each other socially and to give each other support spiritually, physically and morally when needed and also learn from each other.
However, the purpose of the group has evolved over time and it has now been turned into an Association. Furthermore, the scope has widened to include all Sierra Leoneans living in Essex.
Sierra Leoneans in Essex or SLIE as we like to call ourselves is on the verge of a very exciting journey and would like to make a real difference in the lives of others less fortunate than us. Our motto is “Empowering Sierra Leoneans” and our aim is to become a charitable organisation that will support the interests of vulnerable Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad as well as needy people living in Essex, so that they are able to eventually become independent citizens of society.
